A lesson for football punditry

By

Yesterday, I wrote a guest post on A Cultured Left Foot about The state of the Arsenal so far this season.

One of the commenter’s posted a very interesting video of an interview between two veterans – Brian Clough, one of the legends of football management, and John Motson, a football commentator and pundit who’s been pretty much part of the proverbial footballing establishment furniture.

You’d think that through the years, pundits and hacks would have watched this video time and time again and learnt something from it. But I guess that would be expecting too much.

The video is a classic though – most definitely worth being nominated for the top 10 footballing videos of all time.

If only a current manager could be bold enough to provide such refreshing views about the bull shit in punditry in this day and age.

    Heh Darius,

Top post and top video (it should be compulsory viewing for all pundits and journos at the start of each season)!

No matter what we the poor watching public do or what the true experts amongst us do, the football pundits and media will never learn to shut up.
