Never Say Die: An Ode to my beloved Arsenal
ByIt’s easy enough to get dispirited in fickleness as the Arsenal stumble as they settle into the new season. Undoubtedly, a lot of punditry and diatribe will continue to cloak our season as yet another “Arsenal can’t hack it” one, but only ye of little faith shall write off the Arsenal.
I came across this verse somewhere (with adjustments to suit the Arsenal) and I thought it appropriately captures the moment. I shall never forsake my beloved Arsenal.
If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win, but you think you can’t,
It is almost certain you won’t.If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a team’s will-
It’s all in the state of mind.If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You’ve got to think high to rise,
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.Football’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!
It was a bad day at the office and Wenger has to sort out some issues to cut out or minimize our mistakes. I’m sure they know what needs doing and more importantly, there’s time to sort it out.
